Terms of sale

What you're agreeing to

Plain version: you're buying from a shop, not from us. Your card is held, not charged, until that shop says it has your order. If they can't fill it, you pay nothing.

You're buying from the shop

Every order on Rang Bazaar is sold and fulfilled by the boutique whose page you bought it from. They are the seller. Their name — not ours — is what appears on your bank statement, and they are who you talk to about the garment, the size, the parcel and the exchange.

We run the website and take a commission from the shop when a sale goes through. We never hold your money: the payment goes from your card into that shop's own account.

Your card is held first, charged second

When you pay, your bank places a hold for the total. Nothing is taken yet. The shop then has 12 hours to confirm it actually has your items on the shelf.

  • They accept — the hold becomes a charge, and you get an email confirming it.
  • They decline — the hold is released and you are not charged.
  • They say nothing — their 12 hours run out, the order is cancelled and the hold released. Silence costs you nothing. We check for timed-out orders once a day, so the release can land up to a day after the deadline itself.

A released hold then usually disappears from a statement within a few business days. That last part is your bank's timing, not ours.

Prices and postage

Every price is in Australian dollars and includes GST where the shop is registered for it. Postage is a flat rate set by each shop and is shown before you pay — some waive it above a certain spend.

A bag holds items from one shop at a time. Two shops mean two parcels and two orders, so they are kept separate rather than quietly split.

If something is wrong with it

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing can. Goods sold here come with guarantees that can't be excluded: they must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and be fit for their purpose.

If there's a major problem — it's unsafe, badly wrong, or nothing like what was described — you can choose a refund or a replacement. For a minor problem, the shop can choose to repair, replace or refund, and is entitled to a reasonable chance to fix it.

Ask the shop first — they hold the stock and can usually sort it out fastest. If you get nowhere, tell us and we will chase it with them. We can refund an order through the same payment we took.

Changing your mind

Change of mind is different from a fault, and the law doesn't require a refund for it. Some shops offer an exchange window anyway — where they do, it's stated on their shop page. That's their policy, offered on top of your legal rights rather than instead of them.

Before a shop has accepted, an order can usually still be stopped. Ring the shop, or email us, and be quick about it.

Collection orders

If you chose to collect, the shop holds your items and you pick them up from the address shown on your order. Bring the order number. If you can't make it, ring them — they are a shop with a counter and limited room behind it.

What we're responsible for

We're responsible for running this site honestly: showing the shop's real prices, taking your payment the way this page describes, and passing your order to the right shop. We're not the ones sewing, packing or posting, and we don't hold stock.

Where something goes wrong on our side, our responsibility is limited to the value of the order — except where the Australian Consumer Law says otherwise, which it often does, and which we are not trying to contract out of.
